Vis­it­ors to the gal­lery were invited to ask Mar­cus ques­tions that pre­oc­cupy them and struggle to answer them­selves. This sculp­ture is his answer to one of these ques­tions, ​“To what extent can I blame Mar­garet Thatcher?” 

Mar­cus loc­ated this brack­et fungus from a park in Liv­er­pool. The brack­et fungus is the fruit­ing body of a net­work that lives unseen with­in the tree. The fungus appears once the tree’s health is weakened. It’s unsure wheth­er the fungus con­trib­uted to the even­tu­al death of its host tree.
